Merger FAQs

Walker Reid Strategies and Blue Energy Group, two nationally recognized leaders in energy tax incentives, are merging to form a new company: Walker Blue, LLC.

We know change brings questions. This FAQ addresses key topics about our merger—what’s changing, what’s not, and what it means for you.

Clients will now have access to a broader suite of services, including 179D and 45L tax certifications, Investment Tax Credit (ITC) compliance, domestic content and prevailing wage compliance, and energy engineering services.

No. If anything, the relationship will be strengthened with additional resources and staff to support it.

Yes. As part of the merger, you’re welcome to continue working with the same team or division you’ve been comfortable with. Nothing changes on your end unless you want it to, your existing contacts, workflows, and service experience will remain in place.

Websites will eventually point to the new Walker Blue website once it is complete. Existing emails will continue to work for an indefinite time frame while we implement new email addresses. The billing system may change for some clients, but there will be ample notice as to when this might occur.

While Walker Blue’s ITC practice has its roots in cost segregation, the main focus of the practice is on detailed costing analysis specific to the Investment Tax Credit, not traditional cost seg work. Our focus is on collaboration, not competition. We work with many CPA firms, cost segregation providers, and strategic tax groups as trusted alliance partners, and we do not market these services directly to their clients. If anything, we’ll continue serving as a reliable back-office resource for our partners. And when needed, we now have the in-house capability to supplement your traditional cost segregation efforts if you’re facing bandwidth constraints.

During the transition period, please continue sending projects and requests for proposals through your existing Blue Energy Group or Walker Reid Strategies points of contact. The Walker Reid “send project” portal will remain active until the new merged website is live. The updated site will include a new portal for submitting opportunities for feasibility reviews and proposals, covering the full range of our combined service offerings.

Yes. Walker Reid Strategies and Blue Energy Group are legally merging to form Walker Blue, LLC. While both legacy firms will continue to operate under their existing names and websites during the transition period, the unified brand—Walker Blue—will become the new name of the combined organization. Full brand integration, including website, updated communications, and client-facing materials, is expected to roll out by mid-July 2025.
